Who are we? 💛

We are Alex, Antonio, and our little boy Krisi—the family behind MeriBoo. Our story is personal, but it’s also deeply connected to the experience and tradition of Antonio’s family, who have been producing high-quality garments made from merino wool for international brands since 2008.

For more than 15 years, the factory has worked with the finest merino wool and exported its products to countries such as Denmark, Germany, England, where quality and safety standards are exceptionally high. Over these many years, our family has built up expertise and trust in a material that is not just a textile, but a true gift from nature.

Our products are certified to three of the most important international standards:

• GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) – a guarantee that the wool used is produced sustainably, without toxic chemicals, and that the entire production process is gentle on people and the environment.
• Woolmark – one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious certifications for merino wool. It proves that we use genuine, pure, high-quality merino wool that has passed rigorous tests.
• OEKO-TEX Standard 100 – a certification that guarantees every component of the garment (from the button to the thread) has been tested for harmful substances and is completely safe for a baby’s skin.

These standards aren’t just “paperwork”—they’re proof that what you dress your child in is clean, safe, and made to the highest European standards.

💛 Our personal story

I, Alex, had always vaguely known that Antonio’s family “makes something out of merino,” but I’d never stopped to think about how special this material is… until I became pregnant with our son, Krisi.

Then everything changed. I wanted to give him the best—not just cute little clothes, but fabrics that would protect him, keep him comfortable, and be gentle on his skin. That’s when I rediscovered merino wool—this time through a mother’s eyes.

I learned that merino wool is unique:

• it keeps you warm on cold days without making you overheat when it’s warm;
• it’s soft and doesn’t itch;
• it’s hypoallergenic and gentle even on the most sensitive skin;
• doesn’t hold on to odors and is easy to wash.

When I dress Krisi in merino wool, I know he’s neither cold nor too hot. It gives me peace of mind knowing he’s protected and cared for.

🌄 Our factory in Gabrovo

Nestled in the heart of the Balkan Mountains, in Gabrovo, is the factory where MeriBoo garments are made.

This isn’t an impersonal factory floor. It’s a place of quiet, light, and rhythm, where every little garment passes through human hands, eyes, and care.

A team of women with many years of experience works here. They know they’re not just sewing clothes – they’re making the first layers to touch a baby’s skin.

🧵 How we work

Every little garment goes through several careful stages:

• selecting and checking certified merino wool – for softness, density, and consistency;
• precise cutting, taking the elasticity of merino wool into account;
• slow, precise sewing, with seams suitable for baby skin;
• manual inspection of every piece – removing loose threads and checking the details;
• checking every component – labels, buttons, and finishing;
• final finishing and visual inspection before packing.

Nothing is made on an assembly line. Every little garment is made with care – just as we would make it for our own child. Because we believe that quality cannot be rushed – especially when it comes to children.
